What Happens When You Take a Gut Shot Every Day?
What Happens When You Take a Gut Shot Every Day?
Most of us don’t think much about what’s happening inside our gut, until something feels off.
Irregular digestion, feeling heavy, spending too long in the morning routine… these are small signals that your gut ecosystem may be out of balance.
At Dad’s Hack, we wanted to go beyond assumptions and understand what our Good Gut Shots were actually doing inside the body. So we tested them.
Why We Did This Study
Fermented foods and probiotics are often talked about in broad terms but gut health is personal and complex. We wanted to answer a simple question:
Does daily consumption of our gut shots support a healthier gut microbiome?
To explore this, we conducted a small pre-clinical gut microbiome study focused on change, not cure.
How the Study Worked (In Simple Terms)
- A small group of 15 participants consumed Dad’s Hack Good Gut Shots daily for 30 days
- Gut microbiome samples were analysed before and after the intervention
- We looked at the types and relative abundance of gut bacteria, not symptoms or medical outcomes
This helped us observe how the gut ecosystem responded over time.
What Changed Inside the Gut
After 30 days, we observed a statistically significant shift in gut microbiome composition at the group level.
In simple words: the balance of bacteria in the gut changed in a meaningful way.
More of the Helpful Microbes
Several bacteria commonly associated with gut support increased, including:
- Akkermansia muciniphila (+25%)
- Bifidobacterium breve (+66.7%)
- Streptococcus thermophilus (+71.4%)
- Prevotella copri (+22.7%)
Together, beneficial bacteria increased by up to 106% across the cohort.
These microbes are often linked to digestion, gut lining support, and overall microbial balance.
Fewer Undesirable Microbes
At the same time, we observed reductions in certain microbes that are generally considered less desirable when present in excess:
- Helicobacter pylori (−50%)
- Bilophila wadsworthia (−43%)
- Escherichia coli (−14%)
This suggests a shift away from imbalance and toward a more supportive gut environment.
What This Means (And What It Doesn’t)
Let’s be clear and responsible.
What this study shows:
- Daily gut shot intake was associated with a positive shift in gut microbiome balance
- The intervention supported more beneficial bacteria and fewer undesirable ones
- The gut ecosystem responded within 30 days
What this study does NOT claim:
- It does not diagnose, treat, or cure any disease
- It does not promise identical results for everyone
- It is not a substitute for medical advice
This was a small pre-clinical study, designed to observe trends not make medical claims.
Why Gut Balance Matters
Your gut isn’t about one “good” or “bad” bacterium. It’s about balance.
When beneficial microbes are supported and undesirable ones kept in check, the gut tends to function more smoothly — including digestion and regularity.
That’s what our gut shots are designed to support: daily microbial balance, not quick fixes.
Our Takeaway
A small daily habit can make a measurable difference.
This study gave us confidence that our fermentation process, live cultures, and formulation are doing what we intended: supporting the gut ecosystem from the inside.
We see this as a starting point, not the finish line. More learning, better formulations, and deeper research lie ahead.
